I enjoyed my last dvd playlist so I'm doing it again damn it! It's all asian this time around.
Battlefield Baseball - A hilarious B-movie starring Tak Sakaguchi of Versus fame. Baseball, zombies, camp, blood, gore and a plethora of musical numbers all rolled into one. Simply beautiful!
Yesterday - A horrible, horrible, horrible Korean film. Well the first half is anyway. Haven't actually been able to watch the entire film in one sitting...or three.
The Yakuza Papers Volume 2: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima - The second film in Kinji Fukusaku's Yakuza opus. Finally getting around to picking this series up on dvd. I forgot how much I loved these films and I think I made a mistake not picking up the boxset instead.
J.S.A.: Joint Security Area - I love this film. Chan-Wook Park's first masterpiece and it basically got him all the money he needed to film his excellant, so far anyway, revenge trilogy(Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Oldboy, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance).
Hard-Boiled - Finally shelled out the money for the Criterion disc. My second favorite John Woo film. The hospital scene is still amazing after the umpteenth time watching it.
